Hi.
Meet Eric Hovde, Republican candidate for Senate from Wisconsin.
This is a doofus who’s vying to run against Tammy Baldwin, who along with Elizabeth Warren is about as awesome a Senate candidate as anyone in America will ever see for quite some time.
Don’t he look like a charmer?
And don’t he sound like one, too? Why, the dude basically says that the media pays too much attention to people struggling in this economy. How dare they, right? He’s even praying to his Conservative White God that journalists somehow get inspired with the sense to stop writing about those poor people, and instead focus on the deficit and his party’s non-solutions for that problem.

I see a reporter here,” he said. “I just pray that you start writing about these issues. I just pray. Stop always writing about, ‘Oh, the person couldn’t get, you know, their food stamps or this or that.’ You know, I saw something the other day — it’s like, another sob story, and I’m like, ‘But what about what’s happening to the country and the country as a whole?’ That’s going to devastate everybody.”

Despite the fact that over 2010-2011 the news media actually did focus a lot more on the deficit than the unemployment rate, this Walking Rembrandt Billboard is complaining about the “sob stories” of struggling Americans from the “evul librul media.”
Now, Wisconsin, you’ve been sinning a lot lately. The names of your sins are on the nation’s lips. Scott Walker. Paul Ryan. Ron Johnson. But for the sake of all that is good, you can atone! You have an awesome candidate on the Democratic ticket! Support her and make sure this Kochsucker Toothpaste Commercial (or really, whoever wins the GOP ticket) doesn’t so much as sniff the Senate!
